Zachary Lieberman: Working with students

Zach’s residency project is drawing students from across the Science and Engineering and the Creative Industries faculties. The students had their first 3 hour workshop session with Zach, where they investigated the concept for the project and nutted out the timeline, processes and deliverables.

The project, yet to be titled, is thinking about research through the mechanism of scale.

Step one is to gather knowledge. The basic premise of Zach’s concept is an investigation into the QUT research landscape using scale as the lens. The students will be seeking 10 differently-scaled research projects (from nano to cosmic) and engage those researchers in an interview, and knowledge-sharing session. Students will also be collating material and investigating the research space. From this process the students will reveal the key driving questions of our researchers.

This gathered information will create a ‘bucket’ of knowledge and material for the next step in the project’s development…watch this space.
